/ˈhəːmɪtɪdʒ/ (noun) the dwelling of a hermit, especially when small and remote

Hermitage Press is a traditional, independent publishing house based in Cornwall, UK.

Our mission is to give a home to writers that currently live and work in the region. The county has a long history of inspiring both novelists and poets to produce some of their best work, including: William Golding, John Betjeman, Daphne Du Maurier, Winston Graham, Mary Wesley, Patrick Gale, Michael Morpurgo and John Le Carre.

During 2022-23 we will be launching our first portfolio of local authors, covering adult and children’s fiction, as well as poetry collections on any topic or theme.

It is also our aim to use Cornwall-based producers, including book cover artists, illustrators and printing presses, then get releases to readers via online retailers such as Waterstones, Amazon and our own storefront, as well as bookstores, including independents throughout the region and beyond.

Please check our submissions page for instructions on how to become part of our exciting future. Alternatively, you can use our contact form if you have any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you!

The HP Team.
